Get to Know Our New Digital Content Manager!
We are excited to announce the appointment of Liam Cutkelvin as our Digital Content Manager at Darcey Quigley & Co.
We sat down with Liam for a quick chat to learn more about him and why he wanted to join team DQ!
Welcome to DQ! Tell us a bit about yourself
I stay in Quarter with my wife and our two kids, to sum myself up I’d say I am a massive nerd! I’m a big fan of anything to do with music, movies and video games, but I also love getting introduced to new things through my kids, definitely one of the best bits of being a dad!
Career wise, I’ve worked as a journalist, as well as leading marketing and communications teams within the private and third sector. What I love most about my work is being able to get to the heart of what a business is about and tell its story in a way that connects with people.
I’m a firm believer that you’re never the finished article and there’s always something new to learn, which is why I am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), which gives me great support in continuing my development, as well as taking on new challenges day-to-day.
What first interested you to join Darcey Quigley?
I had only heard positive things about the culture and ambition of DQ through my professional network, so when I was made aware of the opportunity to join the team, I felt I could bring my experience to shape content strategically, supporting DQ’s exciting growth ambitions.
What existing skills & experience do you hope to transfer over to your new role at DQ?
I’ve been lucky in my career to work for businesses in moments before significant growth, which has meant that I know how to navigate these critical moments of change, and what opportunities that can be created from a marketing perspective.
I’m excited to bring my experience creating marketing strategies and planning to the team, using what data we have to build DQs voice in an authentic and impactful way, so our customers past and present can get a better window into who we are, what we do and the positive impact we can achieve for them.
What’s first on your to do list at DQ?
I am looking forward to getting to know everyone on the team and understanding where the opportunities lie for creating exciting content to showcase our work.
Outside of work what do you like to get up to?
In my spare time, you’ll find me with my wife and kids, cooking, or podcasting!
I’ve always loved cooking, and recently learned more about what’s in food on a weight loss journey over the last couple of years, so I am always seeking new ways to recreate old, unhealthy favourites.
And I host a weekly gaming podcast with my friend, where we’re talking about juggling parenting with trying to squeeze in time with our hobby.
What’s something fun we don’t know about you?
Fun fact about me? I used to play drums in a pretty lively funk group in Glasgow. My gigging and recording days are behind me now though!
